Themes and branding
Branding is how your TV looks: the template, the colours, the fonts and your logo. You can set it per dashboard, or save it once as a theme and use it on as many dashboards as you like.
1. Create a theme
A theme is handy when several dashboards should look the same, for example one for Sales and one for the warehouse.
- Open Themes.
- Type a name in Theme name, for example Sales or Warehouse.
- Choose the look of the theme, as described in the next section.
- Press Add theme.
2. Typography and accent colour
- Pick a Template. It sets the overall look of the slides.
- Choose an Accent colour. It is used for highlights such as headings and buttons on the screen.
- Choose a Main colour if you want to change the base colour as well.
- Pick a pairing in Fonts.
- Press Add theme, or Save changes when you are editing an existing theme.
If a colour is hard to read on the template you picked, OfficeDash warns you with the message "This colour is hard to read on this template". Choose another colour, or press Use this colour to switch to the readable colour OfficeDash suggests. If you prefer your own colour anyway, press Save anyway. A TV is read from a distance, so a clear contrast is worth it.
Custom colours depend on your plan. Without it, your TV uses the colours of the template.
3. Logo and colour of a dashboard
You do not need a theme to brand a single dashboard.
- Open Dashboards, open your dashboard and press Edit.
- Press Branding in the top bar.
- Choose Own branding.
- Under Logo, press Upload logo and pick a PNG, JPEG or WebP file of up to 512 KB. Press Replace logo to use another file, or Remove logo to go back to the OfficeDash logo.
- Set the Accent colour for this dashboard and press Save.
A custom logo also depends on your plan. Without it, your TV shows the OfficeDash logo. The background image and the animations are set in the same window and are covered in Dashboards and the slide editor.
4. Apply a theme to a dashboard
- Open Dashboards, open your dashboard and press Edit.
- Press Branding in the top bar.
- Choose a theme under Use a theme.
- Press Save.
The template and colours of the dashboard are now read-only, because they come from the theme. To change them, edit the theme on Themes. Every dashboard that uses the theme changes with it.
To go back to settings of its own, choose Own branding in the same window.
A theme that is still used by a dashboard cannot be deleted. OfficeDash tells you which dashboards use it. Switch those dashboards to another theme or to Own branding first, then delete the theme.
