HoorayHR
HoorayHR is an HR application. When you connect it to OfficeDash, your office TV shows who has a birthday, who celebrates a work anniversary, who is away and who is new, and your employee list can fill itself from HoorayHR. You connect it on Integrations.
1. What HoorayHR adds
- People data on the TV: birthdays, work anniversaries, who is away today (leave) and new colleagues. The people slide on the TV and the people widgets all read this same data, every day.
- The employee import: on Employees, an "Import from HoorayHR" button brings your team into OfficeDash, and Sync daily keeps the list up to date by itself. Employees explains the import in detail.
OfficeDash only reads from HoorayHR. It never changes anything in HoorayHR.
2. Creating an API key in HoorayHR
You can skip this step if you connect with a HoorayHR account (see the next section). For an API key:
- Ask a HoorayHR admin to open the HoorayHR API Keys page. The HoorayHR card on Integrations links to it; in HoorayHR it is under Settings, API keys.
- Create a new key and give it only these read-only scopes:
profile_read,time_off_readandteam_information. - Set an expiry date. It is not required, but it is recommended.
- Copy the key. It starts with
pk_.
3. Connecting and disconnecting
- Open Integrations, press Add integration, choose HoorayHR and press Connect. HoorayHR now has its own card on the page, with the status Not connected.
- Connect in one of two ways:
- Press Connect with HoorayHR, sign in to HoorayHR and approve read-only access. You return to OfficeDash when it is done. If the card says "Connecting with a HoorayHR account is not available on this server. Use an API key below.", use an API key instead: that way always works.
- Paste the key from section 2 into API key and press Connect.
- The card now shows Connected, with the Method you used, the Key (only its last four characters, for example
pk_…a1b2) and the date it was Connected.
If HoorayHR revokes an account connection, the card shows Reconnect needed. Press Reconnect with HoorayHR to connect again.
To stop using HoorayHR, press Disconnect. To switch to another key, disconnect first, then connect with the new key.
Only the account holder, and members who are allowed to add or remove integrations, see the connect buttons and Disconnect. Other members see only the status.
4. Widgets it enables
Connecting HoorayHR unlocks four widgets for your slides: Birthdays, Work anniversaries, New colleagues and Out of office. The store entry lists them under Widgets it adds.
Until HoorayHR is connected, the widget store in the slide editor shows "Connect HoorayHR to add 4 widgets" instead of them. Once it is connected, you add them like any other widget. Which tile sizes they fit is explained in Widgets and tile sizes.
